greetings from aussieland..again.

hey you all!

i've got a free period now. first thing in the morning. so i thought i would blog for lolo again. :P

how have you guys been? hope all is going well for each and everyone of you. as for me, life has been pretty hectic but enjoyable here lately. and as much 'fun' as i am having everyday, i admit i DO miss you guys heaps and HEAPS.

well, school has reopened for a week or so now and so far its still pretty manageable. you'll know its not when you see me online in the wee hours of the night/early morning trying my best to finish up an assignment and forcing cynthia the lee to stay online with me to keep me company so i wouldn't fall asleep. :) but after all, it has only been a week and a half!

i've also been staying over at a friend's house(bern) since friday night. this is because she is home alone as her relatives went back to singapore. so me and another friend(nick) are staying over to keep her company for say, roughly about 2 weeks? and so far, we've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen. A LOT.

we baked a white chocolate cake with m&m minis icing on friday night as a surprise for a friend's birthday. and a couple of us watched shutter after that. quite good for a horror movie. wasn't as scary as i thought it would be though. maybe because i know the storyline already and melissa(she watched the movie before) warned me whenever a scary scene is about to appear.

on saturday, we did MASSIVE baking. real massive. let me tell you what we baked.
1. cadbury dream white chocolate cookies with m&m minis
2. cadbury milk brownies with m&m minis
3. banana cake
4. choc chip and malt cookies with m&m minis
5. choc chip and peanut butter cookies (which unfortunately burnt because i forgot about them!)
mind you! the rest of the stuff we baked turned out pretty good. and yes, we used heaps of m&m minis. heheh.

and on sunday, we baked vanilla cake with m&m minis icing.

what can i say? one word: Y-U-M-M-I-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! :P

and yesterday was havock. let's just say we tried cooking our own dinner. we were looking through some recipe books on sunday night and i decided to cook tao yu bak for monday night's dinner. nick decided to cook ma po taohu. so after school and dim sum for lunch on monday, we went to one of the asian stores to get some of the ingredients that we need. wow! i was surprised at the amount of asian stuff that they have there. hah! lolo and cyn, now you know why i am not homesick anymore! heheh. the secret's out ey?

we also went to woolworths(angmo store) to get other ingredients as well. we started cooking at roughly about 8pm. the tao you bak has to be simmered for at least an hour or so. so yes, we had dinner at about 10pm?

dinner was pretty good actually. except the fact that i kind of burnt the tao yu bak and the mantous we steamed became super hard like rusk biscuits after leaving them to cool for a while and reheating them over and over again because dinner wasnt ready yet. nick's ma po taohu was pretty nice and the soup we made turned out better than i expected. way better.

you should have seen us with the soup. the three of us are hopeless with soup until the extend where i had to call my cousin to ask her to teach me to make fuzhou fishball(the fishball with meat inside) and corn soup. it turned out pretty tasteless so we decided to add eggs, japanese taohu and chicken stock into it. we also accidentally added black peppercorn into it. it was quite nice. tasted a little like maggi mee soup. i think its because of the maggi chicken stock that we used. but hey! give me some credit! i have never ever made soup before in my life! and no, I AM NOT SPOILT. :P

i baked blueberry muffins at 1am last night. had one for breakfast this morning. not bad. yummms. :) and what have we learnt from our virgin experience of cooking? amateur cooks should leave cooking only to the weekends. heheh.

anyways, shoutouts to you guys:
lolo: surprised? probably not huh? i bet you've gotten used to me leaving you surprise posts in your blog already! but anyways, how have you been lately? stressed out? and oh how can i forget? thanks for teaching nick to replace 'besar' with 'gemuk'. i told him i would kill you for it. heheh.

cyn: wow! damai ey? have tons of fun aight? without me. :( tell me all about it when you get back anyways. and yes babe, i do miss you. can't wait to see you in december. huggies buggies.
