The turkish delight offered by the witch to Edmund look very mouth watering. So, I decided to search for the recipe. And.... it's quite memahuankan....
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups water
3 cups granulated sugar
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons orange zest
3 (.25 ounce) envelopes unflavored gelatin
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped pistachio nuts
confectioners' sugar for dusting
DIRECTIONS
- Bring 1 1/2 cups water, sugar, and corn syrup to a boil over medium-high heat in a large saucepan. Cook, stirring frequently, until the temperature reaches 240 degrees F (115 degrees C) on a candy thermometer (Where the hell am i suppose to get this thing?). Set aside and keep hot.
- Stir together orange juice and orange zest, sprinkle with gelatin, and set aside. In a small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in 1/2 cup cold water, then stir into hot syrup. Place over medium-low heat, and simmer, stirring gently, until very thick.
- Remove syrup from heat, stir in orange juice mixture, vanilla, and pistachios. Sprinkle a 8x8-inch pan generously with confectioners' sugar. Pour the Turkish delight into the pan, and let cool in a cool, dry place (not the refrigerator) until set, 3 to 4 hours.
- When cool, sprinkle the top with another thick layer of powdered sugar. Cut into 1-inch squares, and dredge each well with confectioners' sugar. Store at room temperature in an airtight container.

I'm currently watching this series.... -_-" hehe~ I noe.... exam is just one step in front of me..... Just cant help it!!! Save my cangkerang!!! U must watch it!! Im half way watching.... The front part is nice.... just not sure whether the ending will turn loso o not. The main actor and actress are Myolie Wu and Andy Hui.... What is interesting bout this drama? Myolie Wu purposely put on weight to play in this drama.... Seriously, she really really gained a lot of weight... I have always like her coz she's super adorable..... One of TVB's best actress if im not mistaken....

The plot is a bit confusing when u first watch coz both the main actor and actress, Charmaine Sheh and Joe Ma are playing 4 characters each. It's like both of them play the character of the great grandparents, grandparents and parents of the modern Charmain Sheh(narator). Aiyo.... I oso dono how to explain..... I havent really watch it. I ony watch the 3rd generation's part..... I think the overall plot is very interesting and creative.... If I'm not mistaken, this drama was awarded as one of TVB's best drama of 2006. As for Charmaine Sheh, she's TVB's best actress of 2006. She's cool.... I like her....
Synopsis
The drama centers around a restaurant that is owned by four generation of women. The first generation Wai Yu Fong was married to a good for nothing husband Wong Yau Ling. The first story has a tragic ending in which Fong died with her long time lover Yu Chi. Before that, Fong was pregnant with Ling's daughter and had given birth. The second story centers around Fong's daughter Wong Zi Kuan. She was raised by her grandmother and Fong's maid. Later on, she fell in love with her teacher and they ran away to Tian Jin. She too was pregnant at the end and gave birth to someone. Bak Wai Zhan is the grandaughter of Kuan. Unlike Fong, she died of old age. The third generation, Zhan married a man that likes to control her life. She soon get bored with him and decided to work in an advertising company only to be found out by her husband.This is also tragic too, they booth died in America LA earthquake.The last one is a daughter of Zhan (the girl that comment sometimes before) ow she tell us love of modern Hong Kong people relationship.
